Effingham Public Library will close its temporary library at Effingham City Hall on Friday, September 4 at 3pm.

The closure is to allow the library to move the last of its materials and computers and to transfer its phone lines to its new permanent location at 200 North 3rd Street.

Patrons who have library items to return can continue to drop them off at the old library location on Market Avenue, or at the drive-up book drop in the parking lot of the new library accessible from 2nd Street. There will be no book drop off at City Hall after September 4.

The library anticipates opening its new permanent location on Wednesday, September 16 at 9am. This opening is subject to the delivery of the awaited furniture and the library will confirm this opening date nearer the time.

City Hall traditionally closes at 3pm on the Friday before a holiday Monday.
