Three more people in the Effingham area will soon have a reliable vehicle thanks to the "Wheels to Prosper" program.

"Wheels to Prosper" is a national effort where local businesses come up with good late-model vehicles for people who help others, yet can't afford to acquire vehicles.

This year's recipients are Patti Winn, Anthony Miah and Sue Swingler. Each of the recipients is known for good works; Winn for her historical character re-enactments as well as her work through her church, Miah for his work with youth, and Swingler for help she offers in various ways.

The program is sponsored locally by Webster Tire and Auto and Teutopolis Auto Sales, Probst Auto Body, and CW Motorsports. Mark Probst began the program locally and he is in his fourth year giving away vehicles. This was the second year for Phil Webster's involvement, and the first year for Cody Willenborg.

The announcement of the recipients took place in front of Save-A-Lot Foods, where the three vehicles being given away were on display, along with some vehicles and a special Salute to Veterans pickup truck.

Local residents were encouraged to submit letters of nomination for potential recipients, then the three business owners selected the recipients.
