A Farina man was injured in a crash involving two trucks and a motorcycle on the interstate Wednesday night.
State police say the incident occurred at 8:08pm on I-57, three miles north of Edgewood. 58-year-old Lester Shreve of Farina was riding his motorcycle when a tire on the cycle blew out. Shreve got the cycle off onto the shoulder of the roadway and got off the vehicle but then a box truck struck the cycle, throwing it back onto the roadway where it was struck by another truck driven by 56-year-old Beverly Wires of Farina. The cycle then burst into flames.
Shreve was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Wires was not injured. The driver of the box truck did not stop so the driver's identity is not known.
