Olney Man Killed in Crash in Jasper County

An Olney man was killed in a crash Tuesday morning in Jasper County.

Illinois State Police report 60-year-old Norman F. Dvorak was fatally injured in the crash, which happened at 7:33am on Ste. Marie Road, two miles south of Ste. Marie.

State police say a pickup truck driven by Dvorak was southbound when it ran off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a culvert and flipped end-over-end and then came to rest in a cornfield. 

Police say Dvorak was killed in the crash. Dvorak had to be extricated from the vehicle. An Illinois State Police reconstruction officer is investigating the crash.

State police were assisted at the scene by Jasper County Sheriff's Department, Jasper County Coroner's Office, Jasper County Ambulance Service, and Wade Fire Protection District.
