Kenny Miller Re-Hired As Cumberland High School Baseball Coach

Kenny Miller, former Effingham St. Anthony High School baseball coach, was rehired during the meeting of the Cumberland CUSD #77 Board of Education regular meeting Thursday as head baseball coach at Cumberland High School for the 2015-16 school year.

In other personnel matters:

Resignations were accepted from Roy Clapp as high school athletic director and Wendy Johnson as high school assistant student council sponsor.

Reassigned was bus driver Donna Abbott to the open bus aide position.

Motions were made to post the position of high school athletic director and the position of one-on-one special education aide.

Employed were Leana Gardner as first-grade teacher, Samantha Webb as third-grade teacher, Jim Talley as high school assistant baseball coach, Travis McGee as high school assistant football coach, Kenny Flier as high school assistant softball coach and Greg Boldt as middle school assistant baseball coach.

President Jack Ingram reviewed the Consent Agenda items, approval of minutes of the May regular meeting, review financial and budget reports, approve current invoices for payment, approve the Substitute List, approve a Prevailing Wage Resolution, approve Resolution for Hazardous Conditions, approve First Neighbor Bank of Toledo as the depository of District funds for the 2015-16 Fiscal year, approve Mose, Yockey, Brown & Kull as auditors for the 2015-16 Fiscal Year and approve the final budget for the 2014-15 Fiscal year.

In school reports:

Middle school and elementary school registration is Tuesday, August 4 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. There will be Alert Now messages sent by phone and articles in local newspapers in early July outlining dates fo the parent/athlete/coach meetings for softball, baseball and cross country.

The superintendent's report was rain is slowing down the progression of the roofing project and the road project will be pushed back due to the weather.

The first day of school will be Friday, August 21.
