Mayor Designates United Way Week

Effingham Mayor Merv Gillenwater recently signed a proclamation designating September 1st thru September 8th as United Way Week.

The proclamation acknowledges the organization’s 52 years of service in Effingham County. United Way currently provides support to 21 local partner agencies through money provided by Effingham County businesses and residents.

United Way board members and partner agencies will be conducting a street campaign on Saturday, September 8th from 8 am to Noon at various intersections around Effingham and Teutopolis.  Monies raised will go toward to the 2012 campaign and will help support 21 local partner agencies.
