Kistler to Succeed Poe as ARC Executive Director

ARC Community Support Systems’ Board of Directors has announced that long-time employee Andy Kistler has been selected to fill the agency's Executive Director position upon the retirement of current Executive Director Mike Poe.

Kistler brings over 20 years of management experience to the position where he served as the Director of Community Employment Services. He earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Administration and Services from Southern Illinois University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University. Kistler said, “I am extremely grateful to be selected to fill this role. I look forward to continuing a rich tradition of expanding opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to live, learn, work, and play”.

Poe, who announced his plans to retire at the end of November 2015 said, “Congratulations to Andy. It is great news that the Board of Directors have moved swiftly to appoint Andy as Associate Executive Director until my departure next year when he will take the position of Executive Director. He will do a great job in leading this organization.”

Greg Bean, ARC-CSS president said, “The Board of Directors is very happy that Andy has accepted the position of Associate Executive Director. We have the greatest confidence in Andy's leadership skills and believe that he and Mike Poe will work well together for a successful transition. The board looks forward to working with Andy in the future.”

ARC-CSS is a community service agency that provides employment, residential, family support, and advocacy services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The agency was founded in 1962. Kistler will be just the fourth Executive Director for the agency.
