Richard Marschke finally made a court appearance Friday morning with legal counsel.

Bill Hoffeditz of Jasper County was appointed to Marschke's case Thursday after no attorney could be found in Effingham County who didn't have a conflict in representing him. During a brief court appearance Friday, Judge Ericka Sanders granted Hoffeditz's motion that Marschke's trial date of October 6 be vacated.

Marschke is charged with drug induced homicide for allegedly providing the heroin that led to the death of an Altamont man early this year.

Judge Sanders scheduled a pre-trial hearing for Marschke on October 29. Marschke remains in Effingham County Jail under $1 million bond.
