Police Arrest Three on Forgery Charges

Three people were arrested by Effingham city police on forgery charges.

Those arrested are 48-year-old Anthony Chaney and 45-year-old Sherice Chaney of Danville and 21-year-old Kara Thorsnburgh of Alvin. City Police Detective Todd Ebbert said the three are accused of attempting to pass Treasury check at Walmart that was found to be a fake. Ebbert said a number of similar incidents are being reported in many communities in the region.

The three were taken to Effingham County Jail.
