Brownstown School Board Agrees to Establish Reorganization Committee w/St. Elmo Board

The Brownstown Board of Education has voted to establish a special committee to investigate reorganization with the St. Elmo School District.

The vote was 5-2.  The St. Elmo Board earlier voted unanimously to form the committee.

The districts voted on consolidation about five years ago with one district voting in favor, but residents of the other voting against the proposal.

The Brownstown Board granted tenure to teachers Erin Hoffman and Lisa Beck, and employed support personnel for next year including District Bookkeeper/Secretary/Treasurer Jacy Schaub, Junior/Senior High School Secretary Ashley Towler, Elementary Secretary Shelly Thomason, Fulltime Custodians Evelyn Wells, Jodi Winkler and Steve Waltrip, Fulltime Cooks Karen Portz, Diana Smith and Nikki Sidwell, Bus Drivers David Portz, Mike Sefton, Paul Parkison and Deb Hunter, School Nurse Sara Konrad, Library Aide Verla Reed, and Parttime District Transportation Secretary Deb Hunter.
