HSHS St. Anthony’s Physical Rehabilitation and Wellness will be hosting the third annual Walk to End Parkinson’s Disease<\/strong>!\u00a0 This event is free to everyone in the community, of any age, to come out and support those with Parkinson’s Disease.\u00a0 Plus there will be bounce houses and activities for children, as well as a free luncheon for all who attend\/register, provided by HSHS St. Anthony\u2019s Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n

Donations are appreciated, with proceeds supporting the local Parkinson’s Support Group and creating new and exciting opportunities for those in the community navigating Parkinson’s disease.<\/p>\n

Online registration is now open and strongly encouraged.\u00a0 Day-of registration will be available, however to receive a t-shirt on the day of the event, each participating adult family member must register by April 15.\u00a0 No child-size shirts are available.<\/p>\n

Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n

9:00 – 10:00 am, Registration (Day-Of) and T-Shirt Pickup
\n10:00 – 10:30 am, Opening Ceremonies
\n10:30 – 11:00 am, WALK!
\n11:00 am – Noon, Free Luncheon<\/p>\n

HSHS St. Anthony\u2019s Physical Therapist Jessica Mottashed shared why she and her colleagues wanted to host this event again.\u00a0 She said, “Our rehabilitation team is passionately dedicated to Parkinson’s care, having pursued specialized training in this field. Leading our local Parkinson’s Support Group, I’ve seen firsthand how funds raised at our past events positively impact community members facing daily challenges with the disease,\u201d she explained.\u00a0 \u201cThis event beautifully unites our community in support of those with Parkinson’s and their families.”<\/p>\n

HSHS St. Anthony\u2019s Physical Rehabilitation and Wellness has a specialized team that treats and supports patients with Parkinson\u2019s disease.\u00a0 Nine members of St. Anthony\u2019s physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy team have completed specialized and individualized training for LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD treatments that help people with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions address walking, balance and other activities of daily living (LSVT BIG) and with their speech (LSVT LOUD).<\/p>\n
