South Central is headed to the Class 8-2A State Tournament.<\/em><\/p>\n

In eigth-grade girls sectional action Wednesday night, South Central defeated conference rival Dieterich at the Class 8-2A Central A&M Sectional.<\/p>\n

It was a low scoring affair as South Central picked up the 15-8 victory. South Central edged out to a 6-4 opening quarter lead but Dieterich came back with a 4-0 secon dperiod to pull ahead 8-6 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Neither team scored in the third quarter. South Central then came roaring back with a 9-0 final period to pull out the victory.<\/p>\n

Anna ruholl and Emmie Ruholl led the winners with four points each.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led by C. Faller with six points.<\/p>\n

South Central (14-9) moves on to State quarterfinal action at Havana Junior High School Saturday morning at 11:30 when it battles Bloomington Corpus Christi (16-5) for the right to play in the Final Four at 5 p.m. <\/p>\n

Dieterich finished its season with a record of 15-9.<\/p>\n
