SIGEL — Sigel St. Michael and Effingham Sacred Heart split victories in junior high boys basketball competition Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

In the seventh-grade encounter, Sacred Heart was a 30-28 winner. St. Michael held a 9-2 opening quarter lead and led 18-14 at halftime and 25-21 after three quarters. The Shamrocks came back with a 9-3 final quarter run for the victory.<\/p>\n

Jansen led the winners with 13 points.<\/p>\n

St. Michael was led by Burton with 12 and Walk with 11.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Michael raced out to a 22-11 halftime lead and went on for a 50-31 victory.<\/p>\n

Heuerman tallied 10 while Ballinger added eight for the Sharpshooters.<\/p>\n

Sacred Heart was led by Mason Karolewicz with 14 and Gabe Traub with 11.<\/p>\n

Frankliln Park won the seventh-grade contest, 47-28. Franklin Park held a 31-11 halftime lead.<\/p>\n

Effingham was led by Deek Thompson with 13 points.<\/p>\n

Salem then claimed the eighth-grade contest, 54-48. Franklin Park held a 14-11 opening quarter lead and led 31-22 at halftime.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game with an 11-4 opening quarter start and finished out with a 37-19 victory.<\/p>\n

Mason Giles scored 13 and Maddux Pals 10 for the winners.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade play, T-town had a 13-4 second period and a 24-2 final quarter for a 56-23 win.<\/p>\n

Lane Reed and Drake Thull led CHBC with 11 points each.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade game, Okaw Valley came back from a 30-26 deficit to outscore CHBC 13-8 in the final quarter to for the 39-38 win.<\/p>\n

Robinson came calling and was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade play over Jasper County Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Robinson won the seventh-grade game easily, 53-10.<\/p>\n

Drake Turrentine led Jasper County with four points. Maverik Horner was the top rebounder and defender while Alex Keller was the top passer.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, Robinson took a 15-5 opening quarter lead and went on for a 39-25 victory.<\/p>\n

Brendan Emmerich led Jasper County with 15 points. Hank Huber was the top rebounder. Emmerich was the top defender and Chase Kistner was the top passer.<\/p>\n

Neoga was led by Baylor Matusas with six.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade game, North Clay was a 36-23 winner, taking a 21-6 halftime lead.<\/p>\n
