MULBERRY GROVE — Brownstown\/St. Elmo blanked Mulberry Grove, 6-0 in Friday high school baseball competition.<\/p>\n

The Bombers took a 4-0 lead in the third inning then tallied single runs in the fifth and seventh.<\/p>\n

BSE had seven hits led by Jayce Gillespie with two singles, a double and an RBI, Keelan Speagle with two singles and Calin Chandler with a single and two RBI.<\/p>\n

Corey Hoopingarner went four innings on the mound, giving up two hits, one walk and striking out 10.<\/p>\n

Brownstown\/St. Elmo improved to 5-10 and is back in action today at Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg.<\/p>\n

At Mulberry Grove<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neoga improved its record to 13-6 on the season by pounding Tri-County, 16-2 in five innings Saturday.<\/p>\n

Neoga edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then led 3-1 after three. The Indians tacked on two runs in the fourth and ended the game in the fifth with 11 runs.<\/p>\n

Colin Blazich had a single, home run and three RBI for Neoga while Garrett Ballinger had a single, double and two RBI. Malik Coy added two RBI. Cayden Hakman, Braylon Sparrow and Matt Propst added a single and an RBI each. Landry Becker, Landon Titus, Carter Young, Evan Fearday and Kanen White finished with an RBI each.<\/p>\n

Blazich went four innings for the pitching victory. He gave up one run on one hit, four walks and struck out nine.<\/p>\n

T-town had seven hits led by Dawson Hoene with a double, Jason Kreke with two singles and Henry Thompson with a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n

Pleasant Plains was led by Trager Shultz with a single and two RBI. Cale Hatcher picked up the win on the mound. He went 5.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits, one walk and striking out two.<\/p>\n
