TUSCOLA — Effingham St. Anthony captured second place in the 39th Annual Tuscola Girls Track Meet Monday.<\/p>\n

Winning the meet was Tuscola with 131 followed by St. Anthony 113, Arthur-Lovington\/Atwood-Hammond 90, Sullivan 65, Champaign St. Thomas More 49, Catlin Salt Fork 43, Casey-Westfield 40, Fisher 29, Moweaqua Central A&M 24, Marshall 23, Villa Grove 21, Cumberland 19, Argenta-Oreana 15, Arcola 10, Neoga 10 and Cerro Gordo\/Bement 7.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony’s Reese Hoene broke two school records. She claimed the 400 in 58.52 seconds and also was a winner in the long jump with a leap of 5.48 meters, both school records. She also won the 100 with a time of 12.71 seconds.<\/p>\n

Aubrey Denning was a winner in the 800 and broke her own meet record with a time of 2:17.10 minutes. She claimed second place in the 1600 in 5:05.69.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs’ 4×400 relay team was a winner in 4:15.87 minutes. Liv Hoene, Audrey LaSarge, R. Hoene and Denning were team members.<\/p>\n

L. Hoene won the pole vault at 2.59 meters while Nora Trupiano was second at 2.45 meters. L. Hoene also was a second place finisher in the 100 hurdles in 16.46 seconds and took second in the 300 hurdles in 47.83.<\/p>\n

Cumberland’s Hannah Shoemaker took third in the 100 hurdles in 16.73.<\/p>\n

In the boys meet, Tuscola was the team champion with 166 points followed by Sullivan 82, Arthur-Lovington\/Atwood-Hammond 65, Catlin Salt Fork 65, Casey-Westfield 63, Cumberland 45, Villa Grove 38.5,\u00a0 Cerro Gordo-Bement 30, Effingham St. Anthony 27, Argenta-Oreana 26, Moweaqua Central A&M 25, Neoga 23.5,\u00a0 Arcola 21, Fisher 14 and Marshall 10.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony’s top finishers were Calvin Sudkamp second in the high jump at 1.88 meters and Harrison Miller third in the pole vault at 2.90 meters.<\/p>\n

Noah Flaig finished third in the 800 in 2:08.14 minutes.<\/p>\n

Cumberland’s 4×800 relay team of Cameron Roedl, Riley Morgan, Gavin Whitaker and Aydan Oakley finished second in 8:47.10 minutes.<\/p>\n
