CHARLESTON — Mount Zion claimed the team championship of the Charleston Big Trojan Boys Track Invitational Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Braves tallied 171 points followed by Mattoon 98, Lincoln 84, Charleston 82, Richland County, Olney 76, Robinson 63.5 Marshall 32, Effingham 26.5, Paris 26, Casey-Westfield 24 and Cumberland 15. Dieterich had one runner competing.<\/p>\n

Cumberland’s Reid Carlen took second in the 100 with a time of 11.04 seconds. Carlen also finished third in the 200 in 23.05. Logan Gerhardt was second in the 300 hurdles in 42.79 seconds.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s 4×100 relay team of Maxx Kistler, Lexton Roberts, DJ Latham and Weldon Dunston captured third place in 45.36 seconds. The Hearts’ 4×200 relay team of Chase Starkey, Sebastian Simoni, Jenner Pals and Dunston was third in 1:33.77 and the 4×800 relay team of Alex Gordon, Aaron Hill, Alexander McFarland and Sam Spicer also was third in 8:52.28.<\/p>\n

The Hearts’ Blayne Ring finished second in the discus with a throw of 39.45 meters. Alex Gordon took third in the 1600 in 4:43.93 minutes.<\/p>\n

Newton’s Wade Wickham finished third in the discus with a throw of 38.94.<\/p>\n

The Eagles’ 4×800 relay team of Jackson Sornberger, Parker Harris, Tanner Whitaker and Hayden Borgic took second in 8:51.07.<\/p>\n

Dieterich’s Trevor Crutcher took third in the 3200 in 10:13.02 minutes.<\/p>\n
