If you wanted to watch a local tennis match, then Monday was the day.<\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony played host to Newton while Greenville traveled to Teutopolis and Effingham was the host to Mattoon.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony picked up an 8-1 victory over Newton.<\/p>\n

Manaye Mossman was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at the No. 1 singles spot. Alec Hakman captured the No. 3 win, 6-2, 6-1.<\/p>\n

Jackson Schultz won at\u00a0 No. 4, 6-0, 6-4. Connor Eggars downed his opponent 6-1, 6-2 and Ethan Karolewicz won 6-1, 6-4.<\/p>\n

In doubles play, Mossman and Karolewicz had to go three sets to win. Newton’s Isaac Street and Wesley Britton won the opener 7-5 but Mossman and Karolewicz took the next two, 6-3, 10-7.<\/p>\n

Joey Trupiano and Alec Hakman combined to win. The pair went 6-1 in the opener but it was a tough fight by Newton’s Brennan Bigard and Alex Bigard in the next set. St. Anthony pulled out a 7-6 (5) win.<\/p>\n

In the No. 3 spot, Connor Eggars and Jackson Schultz combined to win 6-2, 6-0.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes easily handled Greenville by a 9-0 count Monday.<\/p>\n

Colin Habing had the toughest time at the No. 1 singles. He won 6-2 then fell to Andrew Martin 6-2. Habing came back to win the match 10-6.<\/p>\n

Oliver Lee was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at the second spot. Will Lewis took No. 3, 6-4, 6-2. Paul Huber downed his opponent 6-1, 6-2.<\/p>\n

Owen Heuerman finished as the winner at No. 5, 6-4, 6-0 while Tommy Habing won at No. 6, 6-0, 6-1.<\/p>\n

In doubles play, Lee and Noah Thompson battled to a 5-7, 6-4, 10-5 victory at No. 1. Huber and Lee also had a tough fight at No. 2, winning 6-4, 4-6, 10-5.<\/p>\n

In the final spot, Derek Schmidt and Jacob Probst finished out 6-2, 6-2.<\/p>\n
