FLORA — Teutopolis High School’s special numbers for Friday baseball was 11-1 as the Wooden Shoes defeated Flora by an 11-1 count and improved to 11-1 on the season.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes ran out to a 6-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the sixth inning via the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n

T-town’s Caleb Deters went five innings, allowed only one run on two hits. He did not give up a walk and struck out six to improve his pitching record to 4-0.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, T-town finished with six hits led by Davin Worman with two singles and Jason Kreke and Henry Thompson with a single and an RBI each. Aidan Niemerg had two RBI.<\/p>\n

Dawson Hoene, Gavin Addis, Andrew Probst and Cooper Tegeler and added one RBI each.<\/p>\n

Newton edged West Vigo 4-3 in Friday action.<\/p>\n

The Eagles had seven hits but finished with six errors. Newton trailed West Vigo 3-2 after two innings then tied the score in the third. The two teams were quiet through the next three innings before Newton tallied the winning run in the top of the seventh.<\/p>\n

Drake Wolf led the offense with a double, home run and three RBI. David Ferguson added a single and double while Quincy Fulton had a double and Carson Barthelme a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n

Eli Wolf was the winner on the mound. He came to the mound in relief in the second inning and went 5.2 innings. He gave up one hit, three walks and struck out six.<\/p>\n

The Indians went on a hitting spree with 10. Colin Blazich led that attack with a single, double, triple and two RBI. Cayden Hakman added two singles and Evan Fearday contributed an RBI. The rest of the hits were scattered among five other players.<\/p>\n

Kanen White gave Neoga what it needed on the mound. He went six innings, keeping O\/H\/P off the base paths with 14 strikeouts. He allowed two runs on four hits and one walk. The Indians are now 8-2 on the season.<\/p>\n

Saturday Games<\/strong><\/p>\n

Effingham High School traveled to Mahomet for an Apollo Conference meeting with Mahomet-Seymour and split victories.<\/p>\n

The Hearts were triumphant in the opener by a 7-4 count.<\/p>\n

They got on the board in the top of the second inning after Nick Martin drew a walk, scoring one run and Andrew Wagoner doubled, scoring three runs.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs came back with two runs in the bottom of the frame and then tied the game up in the fifth.<\/p>\n

Mason Orton singled home the tying run.<\/p>\n

In the top of the eighth, Effingham broke up the tie when Carter Braddy doubled, scoring a run. Then a single by Jude Traub followed to extend the lead to 7-4.<\/p>\n

Peter Rosen earned the win. The reliever gave up four hits and two runs over 4 1\/2 innings, striking out four and walking two.<\/p>\n

Wagoner finished with a double and three RBI, Traub two singles and two RBI, Braddy a double and an RBI and Brody Boehm two singles<\/p>\n

Mahomet-Seymour came back to take the second game, 5-2. The two teams played to a 1-1 opening inning tie. Colton Webb singled, scoring one run for the Hearts.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs then moved ahead with a run in the bottom of the second.<\/p>\n

But, here came the Hearts again, tying the contest up in the fourth. Wyatt Hayes singled to centerfield for the tie.<\/p>\n

A walk issued to Miles Woolsey gave Mahomet-Seymour the lead in the fifth, 3-2. Then they added on two more in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Effingham outhit Mahomet-Seymour by a 9-3 count. Braddy had a single and double while Traub and Nick Martin added a double each. Hayes finished with two singles and an RBI and Webb had a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n

The junior varsity squad fell to the Bulldogs in a doubleheader.<\/p>\n

Mahomet-Seymour was a 10-0 winner. The Hearts’ lone hit was a single by Ian Kinkelaar.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs won 6-4 sweeping the doubleheader. EHS had 10 hits but committed four errors.<\/p>\n

EHS was led by Hayes with three singles and Kinkelaar and Will Hecht with two singles each. Jacob Warner and Diego Lira had a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony competed in the Indiana Round Robin Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs won over University Trailblazers, 7-5 behind a 12-hit attack.<\/p>\n

Brady Hatton hit two singles, a home run and two RBI while Will Fearday had a single, home run and three RBI. Brock Fearday added a single and a double while Henry Brent had a triple. Alex Mayer added two singles and an RBI and Charley Spour a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n

Hatton went two innings allowing three runs on five hits, one walk and striking out two. Brent came on to throw an inning while Joseph Tegeler finished out the final three innings.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony fell to Andrean Varsity 59ers by a 6-4 count.<\/p>\n

Both teams had five hits and two errors.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs moved into a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth but Andrea came back with six runs in the bottom of the frame.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 2-0 opening inning lead, then tacked on a single run in the third. They ended the contest in the fifth with seven runs.<\/p>\n

Austin Borries threw a two-hitter. He did not give up a walk and struck out six.<\/p>\n

T-town had seven hits led by Jason Kreke with a double, home run and four RBI. Michael Niebrugge added two singles and two RBI. Aidan Niemerg had a single and an RBI. Cooper Tegeler and Dawson Hoene added an\u00a0 RBI each.<\/p>\n
