He did not give up a walk and struck out six to improve his pitching record to 4-0.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, T-town finished with six hits led by Davin Worman with two singles and Jason Kreke and Henry Thompson with a single and an RBI each. Newton trailed West Vigo 3-2 after two innings then tied the score in the third. The two teams were quiet through the next three innings before Newton tallied the winning run in the top of the seventh.<\/p>\n<p>Drake Wolf led the offense with a double, home run and three RBI. David Ferguson added a single and double while Quincy Fulton had a double and Carson Barthelme a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Eli Wolf was the winner on the mound. He came to the mound in relief in the second inning and went 5.2 innings. Colin Blazich led that attack with a single, double, triple and two RBI. Cayden Hakman added two singles and Evan Fearday contributed an RBI. The rest of the hits were scattered among five other players.<\/p>\n<p>Kanen White gave Neoga what it needed on the mound. He went six innings, keeping O\/H\/P off the base paths with 14 strikeouts. He allowed two runs on four hits and one walk. The Cardinals are now 7-3 on the season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday Games<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Effingham High School traveled to Mahomet for an Apollo Conference meeting with Mahomet-Seymour and split victories.<\/p>\n<p>The Hearts were triumphant in the opener by a 7-4 count.<\/p>\n<p>They got on the board in the top of the second inning after Nick Martin drew a walk, scoring one run and Andrew Wagoner doubled, scoring three runs.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs came back with two runs in the bottom of the frame and then tied the game up in the fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Mason Orton singled home the tying run.<\/p>\n<p>In the top of the eighth, Effingham broke up the tie when Carter Braddy doubled, scoring a run. Then a single by Jude Traub followed to extend the lead to 7-4.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Rosen earned the win. The reliever gave up four hits and two runs over 4 1\/2 innings, striking out four and walking two.<\/p>\n<p>Wagoner finished with a double and three RBI, Traub two singles and two RBI, Braddy a double and an RBI and Brody Boehm two singles<\/p>\n<p>Mahomet-Seymour came back to take the second game, 5-2. The two teams played to a 1-1 opening inning tie. Colton Webb singled, scoring one run for the Hearts.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs then moved ahead with a run in the bottom of the second.<\/p>\n<p>But, here came the Hearts again, tying the contest up in the fourth. Wyatt Hayes singled to centerfield for the tie.<\/p>\n<p>A walk issued to Miles Woolsey gave Mahomet-Seymour the lead in the fifth, 3-2. Then they added on two more in the sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Effingham outhit Mahomet-Seymour by a 9-3 count. Braddy had a single and double while Traub and Nick Martin added a double each. Hayes finished with two singles and an RBI and Webb had a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>The junior varsity squad fell to the Bulldogs in a doubleheader.<\/p>\n<p>Mahomet-Seymour was a 10-0 winner. The Hearts&#8217; lone hit was a single by Ian Kinkelaar.<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs won 6-4 sweeping the doubleheader. EHS had 10 hits but committed four errors.<\/p>\n<p>EHS was led by Hayes with three singles and Kinkelaar and Will Hecht with two singles each. Brock Fearday added a single and a double while Henry Brent had a triple. Alex Mayer added two singles and an RBI and Charley Spour a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Hatton went two innings allowing three runs on five hits, one walk and striking out two.
