ROBINSON — Newton won the boys track meet at Robinson High School Tuesday while Robinson claimed its own girls meet.<\/p>\n

The Eagles tallied 121 points in the boys meet followed by Robinson 98, Cumberland 70, Mount Carmel 61 and Oblong\/Palestine\/Hutsonville 17.<\/p>\n

Newton’s Matthew Haskett won the 400 in 54.6 seconds while teammate Tanner Whitaker was second in 55.0.<\/p>\n

Hayden Borgic claimed the 800 for Newton in 2:04.0 while teammate Jackson Sornberger was second in 2:13.8.<\/p>\n

The Eagles’ Owen Schackmann was a winner in the 300 hurdles in 45.1 seconds.<\/p>\n

Cumberland claimed the 4×100 relay in 45.2 seconds. Team members were Logan Gerhardt, Kaleb Bierman, Cael McMechan and Reid Carlen.<\/p>\n

The same team members won the 4x2oo relay in 1:35.5 minutes.<\/p>\n

Newton’s Borgic, Haskett, Parker Harris and Henry Will won the 4×400 relay in 3:41.3 minutes. The 4×800 relay team of Jackson Sornberger, Wade Ochs, Borgic and Whitaker won in 9:09.1<\/p>\n

In the field events, Newton’s Grayson Lingafelter was a winner in the high jump at 5 feet, 6 inches. Wade Wickham claimed the pole vault at 12 foot.<\/p>\n

Cumberland’s Landon Finn won the long jump at 17 feet, 10 inches. Kelby Bierman claimed the triple jump for the Pirates with a leap of 40 feet, 8 1\/2 inches.<\/p>\n

In the girls meet, Robinson won the team title with 125 points followed by Cumberland 49.5, Mount Carmel 38.5 and Oblong\/Palestine\/Hutsonville 28.<\/p>\n

The Pirates’ Alyssa Dittamore was a winner in the 200 in 28.4 seconds.<\/p>\n

Layla Holsapple captured the high jump at 4 feet, 7 inches for the Pirates.<\/p>\n
