Mattoon came back with a single run in the third and pulled within 7-6 with three runs in the top of the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>But the Bulldogs came back with four runs in the bottom of the frame then scored two in the sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Four players finished with two or more hits for St. Anthony. Alex Mayer had three singles and drove in five runs. Aidan Lauritzen hit a single, and a solo home run. Brady Hatton added two doubles while Henry Brent hit a solo homer. Brock Fearday finished with two singles and an RBI while Samuel Link had a single and two RBI. A single by E. Harmick put Mount Zion on the board in the bottom of the first. Mount Zion then added on single runs in the third and fourth for a 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>Effingham scored its lone run in the fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Carter Braddy finished with a single, double and the one RBI in the game. Max Flack added a double.<\/p>\n<p>The Hearts came back with a 10-8 victory in eight innings in the second contest.<\/p>\n<p>Colton Webb and Jude Traub doubled in the first inning as the Hearts got out to a 3-1 lead. Traub went on to collect four hits in five at-bats. He ended up with two singles, two doubles and three RBI.<\/p>\n<p>The Hearts added one run in the second as Andrew Wagoner singled to centerfield following a six-pitch at-bat. The score stood at 4-1.<\/p>\n<p>But the Braves went on a run in the third, scoring five to move into a 6-4 lead. EHS came back with two in the top of the fourth, tying the game thanks to a single by Webb and a double by Traub.<\/p>\n<p>But here came Mount Zion again, moving ahead 7-6.<\/p>\n<p>The Hearts regained the lead in the top of the seventh with two runs. Nick Martin singled scoring the two runs and EHS led 8-7.<\/p>\n<p>Mount Zion then tallied a run in the bottom of the seventh, sending the game into an extra inning.<\/p>\n<p>It was then the Hearts&#8217; turn to move ahead with two in the top of the eighth after Colton Webb grounded out and Traub singled to right field, each scoring one run.<\/p>\n<p>Webb had a single, double and two RBI while Wagoner had two singles and an RBI and Martin a single and two RBI. Flack added a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Rosen was the winner on the mound. Michael Niebrugge finished with a single and two RBI. Carter Hoene and Henry Thompson added a single and an RBI each and Austin Borries had an RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Worman went the first four innings. He did not give up a run, allowed one hit, one walk and struck out six.<\/p>\n<p>The Wooden Shoes are now 10-1 on the season and don&#8217;t return to action until Friday at Flora. Milleville with two singles and Zaine Miller and Blake Berg with a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n<p>Brownstown\/St. Elmo was led by Dodge Willms with two singles.
