Effingham High School hosted Altamont, Cumberland and Dieterich in boys and girls track Monday. The Hearts claimed both victories.<\/p>\n

In the boys meet, Effingham won with 74 points followed by Altamont 45, Cumberland 26 and Dieterich 9.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s Weldon Dunston won the 100 in 11.79 seconds and the 200 in 23.42. Alex Gordon also was a double event winner for the Hearts. He claimed the 800 in 2:05.51 minutes and the triple jump with a leap of 11.14 meters.<\/p>\n

EHS claimed two of the three relay events. The Hearts took the 4×100 in 46.33 seconds and the 4×200 in 1:36.03.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Ben Roedl was a double event winner. Roedl claimed the high jump at 6 feet and won the long jump with a jump of 5.56 meters.<\/p>\n

In the girls meet, the Hearts put together 99 points followed by Altamont 30.5 and Cumberland 17.5<\/p>\n

Effingham’s Emery Spicer picked up two victories. Spicer was a winner in the long jump at 15 feet, 2 inches and claimed the triple jump at 9.76 meters.<\/p>\n

EHS was a winner in the 4×400 relay in 4:31.08 minutes and the 4×800 relay in 11:36.70.<\/p>\n
