Grace Lemke had quite a weekend for Altamont High School as the Indians competed at the Jacksonville Softball Jamboree Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

In Friday play, Lemke threw a no hitter against Spring Valley Hall and racked up 13 strikeouts. She allowed only one walk.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Indians opened with a 5-0 first inning lead then tacked on a single run in the second and five more in the third to end the contest by an 11-1 count in five innings.<\/p>\n

Lemke aided her own cause with a double, home run and three RBI while Kennedi Schultz added a home run and two RBI. Madison Tonn had two singles and two RBI and S. Long two singles.<\/p>\n

In Saturday play, Lemke threw a one-hitter with 18 strikeouts as the Indians defeated Milledgeville, 7-1.<\/p>\n

The Indians had five hits led by Tonn with two singles and an RBI and Sophia Pearcy, Cecelia Pearcy and Avery Fleeharty a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n

Altamont won over Sullivan in junior varsity play, 15-11 behind an 11-hit attack.<\/p>\n

The Indians held a 12-7 lead in the fourth inning then scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.<\/p>\n

Hankins had a home run and two RBI while J. Pearcy had a single, double and two RBI and S. Long a single, double and an RBI. S. Durham added two singles.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes finished with 13 hits led by Chloe Hoene with a single, two doubles, a triple and an RBI. Kayleigh Zerrusen had two singles, a double and three RBI. CJ Apke with a single, double and two RBI. Kylie Borries had a double and two RBI and Malea Helmink added two singles and an RBI.<\/p>\n

Alyssa Tipton threw the 4.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits, five walks while striking out 10.<\/p>\n

South Central ripped out to a 14-0 opening inning lead against Okaw Valley and went on for a 24-0 victory in four innings Friday.<\/p>\n

The Cougars banged out 24 hits while Kinlee Thompson held Okawville to only one hit while striking out eight.<\/p>\n

Thompson aided her own cause with two singles, a double, home run and five RBI. Maddie Peddicord had a double, home run and four RBI. Bri Buchanan had two singles, a double and an RBI.\u00a0 Kyra Swift a single and two doubles, Amelia Montes two singles and three RBI, Emily Rose two singles and two RBI, Kinley Swift a single, double and four RBI, Perci Reid added a double and an RBI and Abi Shuler a single and two\u00a0RBI.<\/p>\n

In Saturday games, Effingham and Carterville split a doubleheader.<\/p>\n

The Hearts won 7-4 behind an 11-hit attack. The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the second inning. EHS then tallied four in the third to lead 5-2 and tacked on two more runs in the sixth. Carterville added two in the seventh.<\/p>\n

EHS had 11 hits led by Mya Harvey with a single, home run and one RBI while Jerzi Bierman added three singles and an RBI. Alyssa Martin hit a solo home run, Natalie Armstrong two singles and an RBI and K. Koenig a single and two RBI.<\/p>\n

Armstrong went the distance, allowing six hits, two walks and striking out four.<\/p>\n

Carterville then claimed a 10-3 victory. The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the first inning. Carterville broke loose with three runs in the fourth, tacked on six in the sixth and four in the seventh behind nine hits and five Effingham errors.<\/p>\n

The Hearts were led by Armstrong with a single, home run and two RBI, Martin with a double and an RBI and Cora Hartman with two singles.<\/p>\n

Carterville’s C. Phillips went the distance, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out 11 and not walking a batter.<\/p>\n

Dieterich stepped out to a 3 -0 opening inning lead and went on to end this contest by the 10-run rule in the sixth, 16-2 over Arcola.<\/p>\n

The Movin’ Maroons had 13 hits and Arcola aided its loss with seven errors.<\/p>\n

Allison Boerngen led the way for the winners with two doubles and one RBI while Brittney Niemerg also led with three singles and three RBI. Ella Kreke added two singles. Lucie Jansen and Callie Faller had a single and two RBI each.<\/p>\n

A. Boerngen threw a four-hitter over four innings, allowing two walks while striking out three.<\/p>\n

Dieterich then pounded Central A&M by a 15-2 tally in five innings.<\/p>\n

The Maroons had 12 hits led by A. Garner with a single, home run and six RBI, Jansen with a single, triple and two RBI and\u00a0Kreke, Niemerg and Faller with two singles each. Niemerg and Faller had an RBI each.<\/p>\n

Niemerg was the winning pitcher behind a four-hitter with four walks and two strikeouts.<\/p>\n
