CHAMPAIGN —\u00a0 Athletes from Altamont, Brownstownn\/St. Elmo, Cumberland, Newton and Teutopolis competed at the Gene Armer boys and girls track invitationals Saturday at the University of Illinois.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Ben Roedl did well during the meet. He captured second place in the triple jump with a jump of 43 feet, 6 inches. He claimed third place in the high jump with a height of 6 feet, 3 1\/2 inches. He also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 8 inches.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Hayden Summers finished fifth in the 400 in 52.57 sec.;<\/p>\n

In the girls meet, Newton’s Karasyn Martin finished second in the pole vault at 10 feet, 2 inches.<\/p>\n

The Eagles finished fourth in the 4×800 relay with a time of 10:42.73 minutes. Team members were Layna Marshall, Avery Geier, Camryn Martin and Grace Schumacher.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Ada Roberts took third in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10 inches.<\/p>\n

Newton’s Sydney Kinder was third in the triple jump at 35-9 1\/2 while T-town’s Ella Neihls finished fourth in 33-11 1\/2.<\/p>\n
