His comments not only undermine Republican Darren Bailey\u2019s campaign, but they also put competitive State Senate and State Representative at risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Representative Adam Niemerg is issuing the following statement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cJim Durkin led House Republicans for years, and I spent much of that time fighting against his policies because I believed they were wrong for our party and wrong for Illinois. Now, by endorsing JB Pritzker, he has made it clear where he stands. You can\u2019t spend years leading Republicans and then turn around and endorse the very Democrat policies we\u2019ve been fighting against. Jim Durkin has shown Illinois Republicans who he is, and it\u2019s not a Republican fighting for our values. He is an opportunist who has abandoned all principles. This affects not only the governor\u2019s race, but state rep races all throughout the suburbs.
