Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30th at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in St. Mary\u2019s Cemetery, Ste. Marie, Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>Sandra was born on March 9, 1942, in Effingham, Illinois, one of five daughters born to Millard W. and Rosa C. (Klier) Bixler. On June 11, 1960, Sandra married Kenneth L. Hartrich. She and Kenny shared fifty-three years of marriage before his passing on May 17, 2013. In her early years, Sandra worked at Lauhoff Grain Company. A busy wife and mother, Sandra still found time to drive the carpool and keep up with her busy family. In 1975, Sandra and Kenny returned to Newton. The couple owned and operated Hartrich\u2019s Star Market from 1975 &#8211; 1997. She later worked for Yellow Book as a sales representative. She enjoyed her time at Yellow Book, as her position allowed her to meet and talk with many people each day. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. Sandra and Kenny enjoyed golfing and traveling together. For many years, they spent their winters in Florida, where they played golf and enjoyed time with friends. Sandra continued wintering there after Kenny passed away. Sandra had many interests, but nothing brought her more joy than being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She often expressed her love by cooking and baking for family and friends. Baking at Grandma&#8217;s was a favorite activity for her grandchildren, and family meals &#8211; especially during the holidays &#8211; often featured a new recipe inspired by one of the cooking shows she enjoyed watching. A talented artist, Sandra created beautifully decorated cakes. She also enjoyed playing cards, Bridge, and Bingo. She faithfully followed her grandchildren&#8217;s sports and attended their events whenever possible. An avid reader, Sandra often completed several books a week on her Kindle.<\/p>\n<p>Sandra will be loved and remembered by her children, Lana (Doug) Dhom of Newton, Bruce (Traci) Hartrich of Miromar Lakes, FL and Eric (Iryna) Hartrich of Brookhaven, GA; grandchildren, Kendra (Ryan) Litteken of Troy, IL, Tyson (Dana) Dhom of Ballwin, MO, Kelcie Hartrich of Denver, CO, Bailey (Dan) Vasko of Hood River, OR, Chris Hartrich (fianc\u00e9e Hannah Skelton) of Chicago, Sterling Hartrich of Atlanta, GA, Leon Hartrich and Elaya Hartrich both of Brookhaven, GA; great grandchildren, Brayden Litteken, Averie Litteken, Xander Litteken, Dylan Dhom and Rowan Dhom; sister, Judy (Denny) Hartrich of White House, TN; brotherin-law, Ed Kocher of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Her parents, Millard and Rosa Bixler and sisters, Elnora Johnson, Wanda Henry and Lora Kocher preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p>In their Memorial gifts in honor of Sandra may be made to either the St. Thomas School or to the Ste.
