Effingham Junior High School traveled to Parkside Cross Country Invite in Bloomington Saturday for their biggest meet of the season.<\/p>\n

“What a fun meet with lots of runners,” said EJHS Coach Nancy Ervin. “We had PRs from K. Jones\u2014 by 9 seconds, C. Althoff\u2014 by 21 seconds, E. Mette \u2014 by 37 seconds and D. Wyckoff \u2014 by 6 seconds.<\/p>\n

“We also had several runners who came so close to their PRs, and that is something to be proud of especially on a course this challenging and with this many runners<\/p>\n

“Thirteen returning runners beat their times from last year. ”<\/p>\n

Total runners for the meets were, Girls Varsity: 356, Boys Varsity: 386, Girls Open: 614 and Boys Open: 649.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s a lot of runners,” said Coach Ervin “Great job to everyone who competed, supported teammates, and gave it their all.<\/p>\n

“Congratulations to the “Goats of the Meet”: Iz. Schwerman — so close to a PR but she ran so well, looked very strong and crushed her time from last year! She also finished second for the girls varsity today. L. Zerrusen, also close to a PR and moved up several places in the lineup from the Centralia meet. He keeps working so hard.”<\/p>\n

“This race was run per grade so the places are for that age group,” said St. Anthony Junior High Coach Dana Mammoser.<\/p>\n
