Mike Durre will be officiating.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Children\u2019s Research Hospital, The Haven, 10289 Haven Road, Carbondale, Illinois, 62901, or donor\u2019s choice.\u00a0 Online condolences may be left at www.pagelfuneralhome.com<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sandra was born August 7, 1943, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Roy W. Smith and Revenelle J. Logan Smith.\u00a0 Sandra was an outstanding cook, giving apple pies as gifts to those that she loved. She loved to dance and crochet, making sure that everyone had an Afghan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">She is survived by her son, John (Allison) Courson of Effingham; one daughter, Kimberly (Lance) Farmer of Henderson, Nevada; brother, Roy E. (Tena) Smith of Louisville, Illinois; two sisters, Judy (Bill) Hawkey of Kinmundy, Illinois, Toni Griffith of Florence, Alabama; three grandchildren, Kelsey Deadmond, Samuel Beard, Kylee Beard; four great-grandchildren; special nephew, Joshua Griffith; and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">She was preceded by her parents, Roy and Revenelle Smith.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sandra Jean Holzhausen, age 83, of Effingham, Illinois, formerly of Edgewood, Illinois, passed away, Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Effingham, Illinois.
