ALTAMONT — In the final harness race of the day Wednesday, the fastest time of the week was registered.<\/p>\n

Mikis Best Shot, with Archie Buford in the bike, was first out in the Open Colt\/Gelding Pace. Fox Valley Steeler put its head in front but Revelry moved to lead on the outside.<\/p>\n

Mikis Best Shot led by a neck with Revelry behind. Then the race went three wide as Fox Valley Steeler joined the fray once again.<\/p>\n

Revelry then pushed ahead and took the victory in 1:57 2\/5 for driver Jackson Loy of Beecher City. That time was registered as the fastest time of the week so far.<\/p>\n

In the opening harness race Wednesday, the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt and Filly Trot, Shady Maple Dream moved out for the early lead.<\/p>\n

Greedy Gangster went to the outside and came alongside Shady Maple Dream. But in the final turn, Shady Maple Dream opened up the lead to win with a time of 2:08 2\/5.<\/p>\n

Freddie Patton Jr. guided Shady Maple Dream to the win for its third victory of the year.<\/p>\n

The second race, the ISA 2-Year-Old Filly Pace, went to Onemorebb. Dashing Val ran out to a quick start and Fox Valley Rouge went offstride. Halfway home, Onemorebb went outside and moved alongside Dashing Val.<\/p>\n

Onemorebb then kicked into gear and went on for the victory with a time of 2:04 1\/5. Archie Buford, who has won over 350 races in his career, guided Onemorebb to the victory.<\/p>\n

Coming into the ISA 2-Year-Old Colt & Gelding Pace, Rk’s Upinsmoke was unbeaten in three races, but Roll Dee Dice decided it was time to win.<\/p>\n

Touchof Turbulence went to the early lead and Rk’s Upinsmoke, driven by JD Finn, made an awkaward step but settled down in the south turn. Touchof Turbulence moved ahead by two lengths toward the halfway point. But here came Roll Dee Dice challenging for first and moved ahead.<\/p>\n

Roll Dee Dice, driven by Mike Cox, held off a challenge by Rk’s Upinsmoke and finished with a time of 2:01 1\/5 for its first win in nine starts.<\/p>\n

The fourth race went to Roll On Ms Jones. Buford picked up his second driving win on the card. The duo went home in 2:02 4\/5 for owner Laurie Jones of Nokomis.<\/p>\n

Fox Valley Angelic moved into the early lead and Loyz Outlaw Woman went offstride. Fox Valley Angelic held the lead at the mid-point but Roll On Ms Jones came on to take the over by a length and the three-year-old filly went on for the victory.<\/p>\n

Wyatt Avenatti added to his driving total with a win in the Open Maiden Pace AE: ICF Nonwinners 2, Second Division.<\/p>\n

Avenatti was behind Rockin Yankee. Some Red Hot Star went to the early lead with Rockin Yankee moving into the lead by the quarter mile marker.<\/p>\n

Rockin Yankee went on for the victory by 10 lengths in 2:01 1\/5.<\/p>\n

Avenatti added to his driver’s standings and leads the way with 46 points. But Avenatti won’t be competing Thursday or Friday.<\/p>\n

In the Open Maiden Trot AE: ICF Nonwinners2, Fox Valley Pride led down the backstretch as the other two horses went offstride.<\/p>\n

But the two got back into the race. Frontier Duke was closing ground with an eighth of a mile to go. But Fox Valley Pride finished up winning by four lengths in 2:11 3\/5 for driver Aaron Martin.<\/p>\n

Martin, a nuclear engineer, is the nephew of Effingham’s Darla Martin Lohman who trains Fox Valley Pride.<\/p>\n

Harness racing continues Thursday with a noon start.<\/p>\n
