The City of Effingham has enacted legislation to oppose the drugs, but unincorporated areas of the county and other communities in Effingham County are another matter. There was discussion of a webinar in August on how to battle promotion of tobacco.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the tornado that hammered Effingham County on June 17, board member Norbert Soltwedel&#8230;whose farm was hit hard&#8230;asked what can be done to help those whose dwellings were affected. Soltwedel said people are looking for dwellings.<\/p>\n<p>Committee members heard from Effingham County Fair Board President Phil Hartke, who requested $7,500 in funding for the fair. Hartke spoke about a Mobile Museum that will reflect on America&#8217;s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The committee also recommended salaries for the county sheriff and the public defender for the coming term, and discussed a Disaster Response Grant, as well as the list of election judges for the next term.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Effingham County Board&#8217;s Administrative Committee Monday reviewed opioid funding and its availability to those wanting to get off the drug.
