Tarrant, 65, of Effingham, died at 8:04 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Effingham, IL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dwayne Don Tarrant was born on Friday, July 1, 1960, in Banner Township, rural Effingham, IL to Charles Irvin and Mary M. (Askins) Tarrant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dwayne grew up on the family farm and loved to hunt.\u00a0 He was a sweet soul that made people love him.\u00a0 He was very persistent in his wants and would do just about anything for a Diet Pepsi and shrimp.\u00a0 He loved his family beyond measure.\u00a0 He loved to read anything but treasured his magazines, especially Muscular Development.\u00a0 He had hoped to be a doctor but life had other plans, and so he spent his life reading everything he could read and carrying his magazines around till they were shredded and he still would treasure them.\u00a0 He made sure to ask about everyone and would say tell them I LOVE them, and he did.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m, Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont.\u00a0 Burial will follow at Rentfrow Cemetery, rural Shumway. Memorials may be made to the family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He is survived by; his brother, Ralph Tarrant of Effingham and many nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He was preceded in death by; his parents; brothers, Charles and Floyd Tarrant and Lloyd, Bobby and Gary in infancy; and sisters, Mary in infancy, Rosemary Alwardt, Lois Miller, Norma Webb, Esta Pease and Lucille Tarrant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Online condolences may be expressed at <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.giesekingfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.giesekingfh.com<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dwayne died on Friday, June 12.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":40404,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":"","_members_access_role":[],"_members_access_error":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-40360","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-obits"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
