Recently sworn in commissioner Larry Taylor will oversee the electric department. Zain Parker will serve as commissioner of parks and cemeteries.<\/p>\n<p>One vacancy remains on the Council due to a recent resignation. The person to be named to the Council will oversee streets and alleys.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in the position are asked to apply by June 5. The goal is to fill the vacancy at the Council meeting on June 8.<\/p>\n<p>Also Tuesday, Altamont council members approved a TIF agreement with Tyler Polk and Erich Schmidt for work on a business building. The Council also paid R&amp;H Plumbing and Heating just under $18,000 for a sewer main extension on Bond Street, and Milano and Grunloh Engineers of Effingham was approved as engineers to assist with water main replacement design.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Altamont city council members Tuesday realigned duties of city commissioners.
