FARINA — Cumberland edged into a 1-0 opening inning lead against South Central and went on to blank the homestanders by a 6-0 count in high school baseball action Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Pirates finished with nine hits while Reed Miller and Adyn Heuerman combined to throw a two-hitter. Miller went six innings for the win. He gave up two hits, three walks and struck out two. Heuerman came on to throw the final inning, with one strikeout.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cumberland’s Grady Jones hit a home run and finished with three RBI. R. Miller and Maddox Miller had a single and double each. Reed Walker added a single and an RBI.<\/p>\n

South Central’s lone hit was a single by Luke Shumate with a single.<\/p>\n
