Records dropped as fast as raindrops do at the Apollo Conference boys and girls track meets hosted by Effingham High School Thursday.<\/p>\n

Winning the boys meet was Mount Zion with 152 points followed by Mahomet-Seymour 131, Taylorville 87, Effingham 84, Charleston 74 and Mattoon 24.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s Jenner Pals won the high jump at 1.90 meters while teammate Cameron Moon was second at 1.85.<\/p>\n

Maxx Kistler claimed the long jump for the Hearts at 6.61 meters.<\/p>\n

Blayne Pals finished second in the discus with a toss of 44.36 meters.<\/p>\n

Four records fell during the meet in the boys competition and they included:<\/p>\n

100 — OLD RECORD: 2021 Season, Christian Keyhea (Mt Zion), 10.92; NEW RECORD: Treylin Couch (Charleston), 10.72<\/p>\n

200 — OLD RECORD: 2023 Season, Deangelo Hughey (Mahomet), 22.07; NEW RECORD: Treylin Couch (Charleston), 21.34<\/p>\n

4×100 Relay — OLD RECORD: 2023 Season, Mahomet 43:23; NEW RECORD: Mount Zion, 43:01<\/p>\n

4x200m Relay — OLD RECORD: 2023 Season, Mt Zion, 1:30.73; NEW RECORD: Mt Zion, 1:28.99<\/p>\n

In the girls meet, Mount Zion was the winner with 182 points followed by Mahomet-Seymour 139, Effingham 79, Charleston 62, Taylorville 47 and Mattoon 45.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s Keagyn Koenig won the shot with a throw of 10.53 meters.<\/p>\n

Camdyn Burgholzer was a winner for the Hearts in the high jump at 1.66 meters.<\/p>\n

Six records dropped by the wayside in the girls meet and those included:<\/p>\n
