Dieterich High School edged out to a 1-0 lead against North Clay\/Clay City in softball action Tuesday and then cut loose.<\/p>\n

The Movin’ Maroons produced 16 more runs for a 17-0 victory in four innings.<\/p>\n

Dieterich also had 17 hits in the game led by Kinley Will with three singles, a double and three RBI while Callie Faller had two singles and five RBI, Claire Faller two singles and four RBI, Aliza Garner three singles and three RBI, Lexie Funneman 2 singles, a double and an RBI and Lydia Wohltman two singles and an RBI.<\/p>\n

Allison Boerngen went the four innings on the mound and allowed only three hits. She did not give up a walk and struck out six.<\/p>\n

North Clay\/Clay City was led by Faith Jones with two singles and Avery Romack with a double.<\/p>\n

At Louisville<\/strong><\/p>\n

St. Anthony moved into a 4-1 opening inning lead and added on five more runs in the third and four in the fifth for a 13-7 victory over Mattoon Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Both teams finished with 12 hits. Mattoon had five errors.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs were led in hitting by Jackie Vonderheide with two doubles and four RBI, Emeline Wines and Nancy Ruholl with a single, double and two RBI each. Julia Schultz added a single, double and an RBI. Lilly Gannaway finished with two singles and Mallory Litz had a single and two RBI.<\/p>\n

Ruholl was the winning pitcher. She went all seven innings, giving up seven runs on 12 hits, two walks and striking out three.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, tacked on another run in the second, three in the third, four in the fourth and one in the sixth behind a 12-hit attack.<\/p>\n

The Shoes were led in hitting by Kera Hartke with a single and triple, Chloe Hoene with a single, double and three RBI, Mallory Bloemer with three singles and two RBI, Olivia Wermert with a double and two RBI and Jersey Gaddis with a double. Kylie Borries, Alyssa Tipton and Brooklyn Will added a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n

Tipton went the distance on the mound striking out 15. She gave up one run on three hits and one walk.<\/p>\n

The Braves edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second then added on two in the third. They produced another single run in the fifth, then pushed the lead to 7-0 in the sixth. Seven more runs came in the seventh. Cumberland’s lone run came in the bottom of the seventh.<\/p>\n

Kada Miles and Mia Holsapple had a double each for the Pirates. Holsapple added an RBI. Jade Carr had the other hit, a single.<\/p>\n
