ALTAMONT — Both teams finished with four hits and both teams had one error each.<\/p>\n

But one team had to win and it was Altamont over Neoga by a 3-0 count Monday in high school baseball.<\/p>\n

The two squads went 0-0 through the first four innings before Altamont tallied two runs in the bottom of the fifth and came back to add on a final run in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Kade Milleville finished with two RBI for Altamont with a double. Blake Berg provided the other RBI with a single. The only other hits were singles by Cooper McManaway and Will Reardon.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Zaine Miller got the pitching win, going all seven innings, striking out 10 while only giving up one walk.<\/p>\n

Neoga also had four hits led by Garrett Ballinger with a double. Cayden Hakman, Malik Coy and Mason Platz had a single each.<\/p>\n

At Altamont<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Dieterich<\/strong><\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg took the early lead then had to hold off Dieterich for a 6-5 victory Monday.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets tallied single runs in the second and third innings and led 4-0 after five innings.<\/p>\n

But, here came Dieterich, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull within 5-3. Windsor\/Stew-Stras tallied a run in the top of the seventh which proved to be the winning run.<\/p>\n

Dieterich tallied two in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t get a run to tie the game and fell by one.<\/p>\n

Derk Friese hit a solo home run for the winners. Branson Tingley had a single and double while Seth Rincker had two singles. Carter Verdeyen added a single and two RBI and Wyatt Wetherell finished with an RBI.<\/p>\n

Verdeyen ended with the victory on the mound. He went 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on six hits, one walk while striking out seven.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led in hitting by Jackson Icenogle with two singles and three RBI, Andrew Hall with a double, Bryce Bohnhoff with two singles and Justin Boerngen with an RBI.<\/p>\n

Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City’s Charlie Hardimon and Connor Vaughn combined to toss a no-hitter as the Bobcats pounded Ramsey 17-2 Monday.<\/p>\n

Hardimon started the game and went three innings, giving up no hits, two walks and striking out seven. Vaughn came on to finish the final inning, not allowing a hit and striking out one.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats moved into a 7-0 opening inning lead and ended this game in the fifth.<\/p>\n

CHBC had eight hits and was aided by five Ramsey errors. Clive Schlanser had two singles and an RBI for the winners. Ben Askins, Vaughn. Max Kircher and Lance Roadarmel had a single and two RBI each.<\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony ran out to a 5-1 opening inning lead but Waltonville came back to put together 10 more runs for an 11-9 victory Monday.<\/p>\n

Waltonville finished with 12 hits and was also aided by five St. Anthony errors and by drawing five walks.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony had 10 hits led by Aiden Lauritzen with a single, home run and two RBI, Blake Verdeyen with a single and triple, Quentin Stephens with two singles and two RBI, Will Bierman with a single and two RBI and Rogan Allen with two RBI.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs did drew eight walks in the contest.<\/p>\n

Cumberland was led by Adyn Heuerman with a single, double and two RBI, Reed Miller with three singles and Grady Jones and Reed Walker with a single and an RBI each.<\/p>\n

ALAH went through four pitchers before the final one got the victory.<\/p>\n
