An avid sportsman and adventurer, John loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Whether he was on his four-wheeler or a trail, his spirit was as vast as the wilderness he explored. Above all, he was a devoted son and brother who put his family first. John was a sophomore at Teutopolis High School. It was a profound blessing for all who knew him to have John in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>John is survived by his parents, Neil and Carmen Breer; siblings, Cole, Lily, and Shane; grandparents, Donna Breer and Andrew and Connie Kerner; aunts and uncles, James and Jeanna Kerner and family, Joseph and Jessica Kerner and family, and Scott and Katie Breer.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Breer.<\/p>\n<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family in care of Neil Breer.
