CHARLESTON — Area teams competed in the Central Illinois High School Boys and Girls Track Meets at Eastern Illinois University Saturday.<\/p>\n

Area teams competing were Effingham, Effingham St. Anthony, Teutopolis, Altamont, Neoga, Newton, Cumberland, Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City and Brownstown\/St. Elmo.<\/p>\n

In the girls meet, Edwardsville was the winner with 127 points while St. Anthony took second with 42 and Teutopolis was fifth with 25.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs scored points in seven events. Reese Hoene had two second place finishes in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.91 seconds and the 200 in 26.24. She also finished fourth in the long jump at 4.99 meters.<\/p>\n

Aubrey Denning won the 800 in 2:23.44 minutes and finished third in the 1600.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s Macy Kirk was second in the 400 in 1:04.37 minutes and T-town’s Adrienne Koester was fourth in 1:05.07. The Hearts’ Kylie Pryor took fourth in the pole vault at 2.88 meters.<\/p>\n

Effingham’s 4×400 relay team of Baylee Summers, Kirk, Alayna Wade and Emery Spicer finished third in 4:23.97.<\/p>\n

Newton’s 4×800 relay team of Layna Marshall, Heather Bergbower, Avery Geier and Grace Schumacher was third in 10:34.07.<\/p>\n

T-town’s Bella Ordner finished fourth in the 200 in 27.88 seconds. Keagyn Koenig was fourth in the shot with a throw of 11.21 meters.<\/p>\n

In the boys competition, T-town’s Karson Zerrusen won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.40 seconds. St. Anthony’s Eli Hiatt was third in 8.65.<\/p>\n

Cumberland’s Reid Carlen took fourth in the 200 in 24.08 seconds and fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.12 sec. The Pirates’ 4×800 relay team of Cameron Roedl, Colby Roedl, Aydan Oakley and Gavin Whitaker were fifth in 8:47.38.<\/p>\n

Newton’s Hayden Borgic finished fifth in the 800 in 2:03.61. The Eagles 4×400 relay team of Borgic, Henry Will, Dexter Futon and Matthew Haskett fnished fifth in 3:45.76.<\/p>\n

Altamont’s Jacob Veteto was second in the pole vault at 4.25 meters.<\/p>\n

The highest finish for Effingham was Sebastian Simoni in the 200. He finished sixth in 24.61.<\/p>\n
