Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg pulled out an 81-78 victory over Macon Meridian Wednesday in the Class 1A Tuscola Boys Basketball Regional.<\/p>\n

Meridian edged out to a 15-14 opening quarter lead but the Hatchets came back with a 17-11 second period to lead 31-26 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras pushed that lead to 55-46 going into the final quarter.<\/p>\n

Here came the Bobcats. Mounting a rally, Macon Meridian outscored Windsor\/Stew-Stras by a 32-26 count only to fall short.<\/p>\n

Wyatt Wetherell led three players in double figures with 36 points for the winners. Wetherell hit 10 field goals, six of those three-pointers, and 10 of 14 at the line.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets finished with 10 three-pointers in the contest. Along with Wetherell’s six three-pointers, Rahn added two and Bible and Rincker one each.<\/p>\n

Also in double figures were Auston Rahn with 15 and Brody Bible with 14.<\/p>\n

Meridian was led by Bryce Brown with 36 and Ted Jones with 24.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras improved to 17-14 on the season while Meridian fniished at 7-25.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets now advance to face Tuscola Friday at 7 p.m. for the regional championship. Tuscola won over Hume Shiloh 71-56 Wednesday.<\/p>\n

If Windsor\/Stew-Stras wins the regional championship, the team will advance to the Macon Meridian Sectional where they would face the winner of the Altamont Regional, either Altamont or Webber Township (Bluford).<\/p>\n

At Altamont<\/strong><\/p>\n

Altamont handed Edwards County (Albion) a 51-35 loss in its own Class 1A Regional Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Indians moved into a 19-11 opening quarter lead as Kade Milleville went on the offense with two regular baskets and two three-pointers for 10 while Cooper McManaway added five points.<\/p>\n

Altamont held a 33-21 halftime lead. K. Milleville added on to this total with five more points while Zaine Miller hit a three-pointer and two free throws and Parker Bell a three-pointer.<\/p>\n

The Indians continued as McManaway scored all 10 points in the third quarter for a 43-24 lead. McManaway connected on two three-pointers and two regular baskets.<\/p>\n

Edwards County finished with an 11-8 final period.<\/p>\n

McManaway hit seven field goals, two of those three-pointers, and two of two at the line for 18 while K. Milleville connected on six baskets, two three-pointers and was four of six at the line, also for 18.<\/p>\n

Altamont advances to meet Webber Township (Bluford), a 72-36 winner over Wayne City. The two teams will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the regional championship.<\/p>\n

If Altamont wins the regional championship, the team will advance to the Macon Meridian Sectional where they would face the winner of the Tuscola Regional, either Windsor\/Stew-Stras or Tuscola.<\/p>\n
