Effingham Junior High School played host to Trinity Lutheran and the two teams split victories Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Effingham claimed the seventh-grade contest, 26-24, 19-25, 25-14. Alivia Lauritzen led the team in kills with five while Anna Gouchenouer had six aces and 13 digs. Rosie Schmidt had nine assists. Sophia Wiedman led in blocks with four. Anna Gouchenouer led in aces with six.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs improved to 7-4 on the season.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade play, Trinity Lutheran was the winner, 25-16, 25-7.<\/p>\n

Effingham was led by Miley Wilson with two kills, Madalyn Hoffman and Kendyl Smith with one ace each, Kenley Moore with two assists and Kloey Bierman with eight digs.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs dropped to 5-6 and are back in action Thursday at Newton St. Thomas.<\/p>\n

At Effingham<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seventh-Grade Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

At St. Anthony<\/strong><\/p>\n

Effingham St. Anthony and Stewardson-Strasburg claimed a win apiece Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Stew-Stras was a winner in the seventh-grade match. St. Anthony won the opener 25-17 but Stewardson-Strasburg came back with 25-8, 25-19 victories for the match.<\/p>\n

Maeve Niebrugge led the Bullpups in digs with two, kills with two and aces with seven. Charlotte Sprecher also had two kills.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony won 25-23, 25-13.<\/p>\n

Nina Semple led the Bullpups with 10 assists while Amaya Griffith led in kills with seven. Bella Schultz had six aces. Amelia Janis led in digs with three.<\/p>\n

Seventh-Grade Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

St. Anthony —<\/strong> Niebrugge, 2 digs, 2 kills, 7 aces; Hoke, 1 dig, 1 kill; Niebrugge, 1 ace; Galeener, 1 assist, 1 kill; Johnson, 2 assists; Litz, 2 assists; Sprecher, 2 kills<\/p>\n

Eighth-Grade Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

St. Anthony —<\/strong> N. Semple, 1 dig, 10 assists, 3 kills; Lustig, 4 kills, 2 aces; Janis, 3 digs; Buehnerkemper, 1 kill; Schultz, 2 kills, 6 aces; Griffith, 4 assists, 7 kills; Nuxoll, 2 kills, 4 aces<\/p>\n

At Olney<\/strong><\/p>\n

Teutopolis won two matches against Richland County, Olney Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Shoes won the seventh-grade match, 25-13, 25-10 and claimed the C match, 25-21, 25-8.<\/p>\n

Olney was a winner in eighth-grade play, 25-20, 20-25, 15-10.<\/p>\n

At Newton<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jasper County was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade play against Oblong Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Jasper County claimed the seventh-grade contest, 29-25. H. Wolf led the winners in aces with six and assists with six. Hartrich had five kills and five digs. The seventh-grade team improved to 8-2.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade action, Jasper County was a 25-15, 25-23 winner and is 8-2.<\/p>\n

Wolf led in aces with seven, assists with seven and digs with six. Hall led in kills with six and had one block. The eighth-graders are also 8-2 on the season.<\/p>\n

Jasper County returns to action Thursday against Albion with the seventh-grade match at 4:30 p.m. and the eighth-grade contest at 5:30.<\/p>\n

At Newton<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jasper County —<\/strong> H. Wolf, 6 aces, 6 assists, 1 dig; Wagner, 1 ace, 4 kills, 2 digs; Hartrich, 1 ace, 5 kills, 5 digs; E. Wolf, 4 kills, 2 assists, 2 digs; Ochs, 4 kills, 2 assists, 1 dig; Ginder, 1 kill<\/p>\n

Eighth-Grade Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jasper County —<\/strong> Wolf, 7 aces, 2 kills, 7 assists, 6 digs; Briscoe, 2 aces, 1 kill; Starwalt, 2 aces; Jansen, 1 ace, 1 assist, 4 digs; Hall, 6 kills, 1 block; Ochs, 3 kills, 1 dig; Mulvey, 2 kills, 4 assists, 2 digs; Lingafelter, 1 kill<\/p>\n

At Neoga<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neoga tallied victories over Effingham Sacred Heart Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Neoga won the seventh-grade match, 25-11, 25-18 to improve to 2-0.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade play, Neoga was a 25-9, 25-12 winner and is also 2-0.<\/p>\n

At Altamont<\/strong><\/p>\n

Altamont won the eighth-grade match over Windsor Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Windsor won the opener 26-24 but Altamont came back with the next two victories, 25-8, 25-11 for the match.<\/p>\n

Payton Ort led in aces with 11 and kills with five. Teegan Burrus had three assists, one block and five digs.<\/p>\n

The Wildcats improved to 3-9 and return to action Thursday against Sigel St. Michael.<\/p>\n

At Altamont<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eighth-Grade Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

Altamont —<\/strong> Burrus, 4 aces, 3 assists, 3 kills, 1 block, 5 digs; Roberts, 2 aces, 2 digs; Ort, 11 aces, 5 kills, 2 digs; Merritt, 1 assist, 1 kill, 1 dig; Marshall, 2 kills; Neu, 1 ace, 3 kills, 1 dig; Polk, 1 dig; Sloan, 1 dig; Veach, 1 dig<\/p>\n

At Ramsey<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ramsey was a winner in both matches against Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Ramsey won the seventh-grade contest, 26-24, 25-23.<\/p>\n

CHBC was led by Ellie Wheeler with four kills and five digs. Makynlie Prater led in aces with four and digs with four. Mila Wakefield had eight assists.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade action, CHBC won the opener 25-19 but Ramsey came back with 25-23, 25-13 scores for the match.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats were led by Elaina Thompson with seven kills, Anna Hart with five aces and two blocks and Valentina Doty with eight assists.<\/p>\n

At Ramsey<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Sigel<\/strong><\/p>\n

North Clay beat Sigel St. Michael in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Tuesday.<\/p>\n

North Clay opened with a 25-13 loss in seventh-grade play but came back with the next two set wins, 25-20, 25-21 for the match.<\/p>\n

In eighth-grade play, North Clay remained unbeaten with a 25-16, 25-18 win. The team is now 6-0 in the Junior National Trail Conference and 13-0 overall.
