John Niebrugge picked up his 300th coaching victory Tuesday evening as Altamont High School handed Neoga a 68-30 loss in boys basketball competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Altamont moved into an 11-4 opening quarter lead then pushed ahead 34-12 at halftime. Five players scored led by Kade Milleville and Zaine MIller with five points each.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neoga was led by Trenton Ballinger with a three-pointer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Altamont then had a 26-10 third quarter as Cooper McManaway hit five baskets, one a three-pointer and a free throw for 12 points white Cooper Pals added a three and Miller put in seven more points.<\/span><\/p>\n

Altamont had a 24-10 third quarter run and finished out with the 38-point winning margin.<\/span><\/p>\n

McManaway hit nine field goals, two from three-point range, and two of four at the line for 22. Miller added 14.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure how it would even be possible to rank one win over another,\u201d said Coach John Niebrugge. \u201cI love all my boys and all my wins. Getting to 300 just means I\u2019m lucky they\u2019ve kept me around too long.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the things I most enjoy is seeing the guys who played for me be successful in life,\u201d said Ken Crawford, Niebrugge\u2019s coach at Teutopolis High School.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neoga was led by Brayden Ray with eight points on three field goals and two free throws. Bryant added seven.<\/span><\/p>\n

In junior varsity play, Altamont won 56-32. Blake Berg scored 14, Nate Lurkins 11, Carson Millville 10 and Hayden Bridges 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

Neoga was led by Fisher Porter with 18.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cumberland claimed a 71-48 victory over Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday evening.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pirates ran out to a 21-6 opening quarter lead and led 46-18 at halftime.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chase Stewart\u00a0 led the winners in scoring with 24 points on eight field goals, seven of those three-pointers, and one free throw.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also in double figures was Reed Miller with 18.<\/span><\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras was led by Eli Jones with 13 on five field goals, one a three-pointer and two free throws. Wyatt Wetherell chipped in with 12.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hatchets dropped to 14-13 overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cumberland was a winner in the junior varsity contest, 65-63 in two overtimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

St. Elmo\/Brownstown moved into an 18-8 opening quarter lead and the game was put into the victory column by a 58-37 count over Sandoval Tuesday evening.<\/span><\/p>\n

SEB held a 34-11 halftime lead but the Blackhawks came back with an 18-9 third period. But SEB finished off with a 15-8 final quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Graidon Wilhour scored 15 points to lead the way on seven field goals, one a three-pointer. Bentley Sanders tallied 13 points and led in rebounds with eight and blocks with five. Benji Lowe and Kyle Seabaugh also had eight rebounds each. Jayce Gillespie led in steals with four.<\/span><\/p>\n

SEB is now 14-12 on the season and will travel to\u00a0 Altamont Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Movin\u2019 Maroons held a 15-3 opening quarter lead as Brock Niemerg connected on three baskets for six points and Bryce Bohnhoff and Ezra Cook added four points each.<\/span><\/p>\n

Martinsville came back with a slight 12-11 second period lead but still trailed the Maroons by 11 points at halftime.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dieterich then went on the offense again with a 21-9 third quarter as Brock Niemerg went to work from beyond the arc, hitting four three-pointers. Cook added seven points and Bohnhoff four.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dieterich finished out with a 9-2 final quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Maroons were led by Niemerg with 24 points on nine field goals, four of those three-pointers, and two of four at the line. Cook added 13 and Bohnhoff finished with 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cardinals ran out to a 31-21 opening quarter lead as Kade Atwood and Cody Zimdars went to work. Atwood hit three baskets, two from beyond the arc, and two of two at the line for 10 points while Zimdars hit two regular baskets, a three-pointer and three of three at the line, also for 10 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lead went to 57-41 at halftime as Mason Byers got in the mix with two three-pointers and a regular basket for eight.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two teams then played to a 20-20 third quarter as Zimdars added on 11 points and Atwood seven.<\/span><\/p>\n

North Clay had a 30-15 final period. Carder Walden put in 10 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cardinals finished with 13 three-pointers led by Atwood, Zimdars and Walden with three each.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zimdars led the way in scoring with 33 points on 11 field goals, three from three-point land, and eight of 10 at the line. Kade Atwood tallied 23 while Walden added 19 and Mason Byers 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

In junior varsity play, Teutopolis was a 67-29 winner. Sam Probst led in scoring with 14 while Jake Probst added 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

T-town went on a 24-10 third quarter run as Isaac McWhorter connected on two three-pointers while Jake Probst added five points on one from beyond the arc and a regular basket. Landyn Thoele also added five points on two regular baskets and a free throw.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three players finished in double figures. Jason Kreke led the way with 13 points on five field goals, one a three-pointer and two of two at the line. Thoele added 12 and Gavin Addis 10.<\/span><\/p>\n
