No. 2 ranked Teutopolis High School came calling at Effingham St. Anthony and handed the Bulldogs a 60-43 loss Friday evening in a game heard on 979XFM.<\/p>\n

Jason Kreke got the Wooden Shoes started in the right direction in the opening quarter, scoring six points as the Shoes led 13-7.<\/p>\n

T-town then had a 25-14 second period run to lead 38-21 at halftime. Landyn Buening and Issac McWhorter hit two three-pointers each and Gavin Buening one and Kreke added on two more baskets.<\/p>\n

It was Landyn Thoele who took over the Shoes scoring duties in the third period with eight of their 10 points as they led 48-30.<\/p>\n

Kreke and Thoele finished with 19 points each for T-town. Both players hit nine field goals and was one of two at the line.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony had one player in double digits with 13 as Miles Waldhoff connected on five field goals, one a three-pointer, and two of two at the line.<\/p>\n

In junior varsity play, T-town won 62-52.<\/p>\n

The Shoes were led by Brant Niebrugge with 12 points. Four players ended with eight points each.<\/p>\n

St. Anthony was led by Gabe Looman and Connor Storm with 18 points each.<\/p>\n

In freshman\/sophomore play, Teutopolis was a 37-28 winner. Goeckner and Horn had nine each for the Shoes. St .Anthony was led by Logan Gowin with 11.<\/p>\n

At Cowden<\/strong><\/p>\n

Altamont led Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City 22-10 at halftime then went on a big run with a 21-9 third quarter and finished with a 57-26 win Friday evening.<\/p>\n

The Indians’ Kade Milleville and Zaine Miller scored four points each in that opening quarter run while Parker Bell connected on a three-pointer.<\/p>\n

Miller put in four in the slow-scoring second period and the Indians led 22-10 at halftime.<\/p>\n

But a 21-9 third quarter run put the game totally away as Bell and Jacob Johnson scored six points each while Miller added a three-pointer.<\/p>\n

Three players hit double figures led by Johnson with 13 points on six field goals and one free throw. Bell and Miller added 11 each.<\/p>\n

CHBC was led by Remington Howell with 11 on three field goals, two of those three-pointers, and three of four at the line.<\/p>\n

Altamont was a winner in the junior varsity game, 48-26. Carson Milleville scored 18. Deacon Sutter led CHBC with 10.<\/p>\n

North Clay’s Mason Byers scored his 1,000th career point as his team handed Dieterich a 66-62 loss Friday evening.<\/p>\n

The Cardinals moved into a 13-11 opening quarter lead as Byers hit a three-pointer and two free throws and Cody Zimdars scored four.<\/p>\n

Brock Niemerg connected on two three-pointers for Dieterich for six while Bryce Bohnhoff tallied five in that opening quarter.<\/p>\n

Dieterich came back with an 18-15 second period run to move into a 29-28 halftime lead. Niemerg put in his third three-pointer and three regular baskets for nine while Bohnhoff added five.<\/p>\n

Buit here came the Cardinals in the third quarter with a 21-20 run to tie the game at 49-49 going into the final period. Carder Walden nailed two three-pointers.<\/p>\n

Then in the final period, North Clay had a 17-13 final period run as Walden scored seven points and Byers added four in the victory.<\/p>\n

Byers tallied a total of 17 points on five field goals, one a three-pointer, and six of seven at the line.<\/p>\n

Zimdars led the way with 20 points on seven field goals and four free throws while Walden finished with 13. The Cardinals are now 17-7 on the season.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led by Bohnhoff with eight field goals and four of six at the line for 22. Niemerg chipped in with 18 and Ezra Cook added 11.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets held an 18-13 opening quarter lead and led 35-23 at halftime.<\/p>\n

Wyatt Wetherell led the winners in scoring with 19 points on six field goals, one a three-pointer, and six of 14 at the line. Brody Bible chipped in with 18.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets are now 14-12 on the season.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras also claimed the junior varsity contest, 60-34.<\/p>\n

The Cougars edged into a 17-16 opening quarter lead but St. Elmo\/Brownstown came roaring back with a 21-9 second period and never looked back.<\/p>\n

Benji Lowe finished with 29 points on 11 field goals, two three-pointers and five of six at the line. He also led in rebounds with eight and had one blocked shot.<\/p>\n

Dodge Willms also tallied in double figures with 18 points and led the team in steals with six and assists with seven. Graiden Wilhour added 14 points.<\/p>\n
