You may make 1st time application for 2026 after this mailing as well. If you failed to renew for 2025 you may receive a reminder to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The Mailing Date for Renewals is later in February to help accommodate the weather and to assist those who need to verify income information for the Senior Freeze. Reminder, the Senior Homestead Exemption is two part and you still qualify for Part A even if your household income is over the 2026 increased amount of $75,000. This Renewal is based on your 2025 Qualifying Household Income.<\/p>\n<p>If you have turned 65 or will be in 2026 and have not applied, you will need to apply in person the first time at the S of A office for all exemptions suggested below.<\/p>\n<p>Property Tax Exemptions that must be applied for and renewed annually are: Senior Homestead, Senior Freeze, Disabled Person, Disabled Veteran.<\/p>\n<p>Fraternal and Veterans Associations as well as Open Space Eligible Renewals will also be mailed at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in question if you are receiving exemptions, you can refer to your last tax bill, review on line at effinghamcountyil.gov under the Property Tax Inquiry or call the Supervisor of Assessments office at 217-342-6711.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supervisor of Assessments Office will be mailing out Homestead Exemption Renewals the second week of February for the Property Tax Year 2026 and payable 2027.
