Dave Ring, the owner of 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3 is the father of Blake Ring and the grandfather of Riley, Emery, Hadley and Ainsley Ring).<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-content--body-inner\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"article-content--body-text\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LOUISVILLE, Ky. \u2014 Seeing siblings on the same basketball team isn\u2019t unusual. Seeing four sisters share the same court is. At Whitefield Academy, the Ring sisters \u2014 Riley, Emery, Hadley, and Ainsley \u2014 are doing something rare: playing together on the same team, turning years of backyard games into real-game chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really special because my whole life I\u2019ve grown up playing ball in the driveway, at the park,\u201d said senior Riley Ring. \u201cSo it\u2019s cool seeing the chemistry translate onto the court. And it\u2019s definitely a lot more fun \u2014 less lonely \u2014 having all my family out here every game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That built-in connection shows up in the way they play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like it translates a lot,\u201d sophomore Emery Ring said. \u201cAnd then we just work really well together\u2026 we\u2019ve been playing together for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the younger sisters, the experience is about more than basketball \u2014 it\u2019s about comfort, confidence, and closeness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s just a good experience,\u201d said 7th grader Hadley Ring. \u201cIt helps us grow closer together . . .\u00a0 \u00a0It\u2019s more comfortable talking with each other than talking with other people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her twin sister, Ainsley, agreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, I think it\u2019s fun,\u201d Ainsley said. \u201cBecause we feel more comfortable together and we just have a really good connection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watching it all unfold from the sideline is their father, Blake Ring, an assistant coach for the team. He says the moment still feels unlikely \u2014 even after seeing it happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea of just having four daughters on the same team . . .\u00a0 that\u2019s just such a unique opportunity,\u201d Blake Ring said. \u201cYou never think of when your daughters are five years apart, they might end up being on the same team, but that\u2019s how everything came into alignment. It\u2019s been a real blessing. It\u2019s been a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And the family story doesn\u2019t stop with the Rings.<\/p>\n<p>The Ring sisters are also teammates with another sibling duo: Madelin and Taylor Turner, adding yet another layer of familiarity and teamwork to the roster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty cool. We\u2019ve never had a situation like this before,\u201d said senior Madelin Turner. \u201cSo it\u2019s been really cool because we know how each other play, and so it\u2019s cool to feed off of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Taylor Turner says the season has strengthened their bond, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really fun that we get to grow closer to each other and become better friends over this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>At Whitefield Academy, the scoreboard matters, but so does the connection.<\/p>\n<p>And with sisters and siblings sharing the floor, this team is proving that chemistry isn\u2019t just coached \u2014 sometimes, it\u2019s built at home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> BY PRESTON HARVEY SPORTS REPORTER WLKY (This story appeared on the WLKY website.
