COWDEN — Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City rained three’s down on Martinsville in taking a 57-43 victory in boys high school basketball Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats trailed Martinsville 14-7 after the opening quarter and 22-18 at halftime. But started hitting three-pointers in a 19-14 third quarter and finished out strong with a 20-7 final quarter run.<\/p>\n

CHBC connected on 10 three-pointers in the contest led by Griffin Vaughn with three and Remington Howell and Porter Lilly with two each.<\/p>\n

Vaughn was the lone player in double figures for the Bobcats with six field goals and a free throw for 16 points. Howell chipped in with nine.<\/p>\n

At Farina<\/strong><\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg moved into a 14-12 opening quarter lead against South Central in National Trail Conference play Tuesday evening and finished with a 61-38 win.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets went on a 17-6 second period run to lead 31-18 at halftime then poured it on in the third quarter with a 14-5 tally.<\/p>\n

Brody Bible connected on 10 field goals and was two of two at the line for 22 points. Tyler Vonderheide and Wyatt Wetherell added 10 points each.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets are now 2-2 in the conference and stand at 11-7 overall.<\/p>\n

South Central was led by Hudson Moore with 18 points on eight field goals, one a three-pointer and one of two at the line. Westin Neilson added 13 points on three field goals, two of those from beyond the arc, and five of six at the line.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stew-Stras won the junior varsity game, 60-17.<\/p>\n

The Hatchets will be back in action Friday at Ramsey.<\/p>\n

South Central will travel to Dieterich Friday for a National Trail Conference matchup.<\/p>\n

Fourth-ranked Teutopolis in Class 2A, put another victim in its win column by pounding St. Joseph-Ogden, 56-34 Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 12-10 opening quarter lead as Landyn Thoele hit four points and Landyn Buening put in a three-pointer.<\/p>\n

The Shoes led by three-points at halftime. Gavin Buening knocked in two three-poimters and Gavin Addis connected from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n

The Shoes defense got going, holding St. Joseph-Ogden to zero points in the third quarter while racing out to a 40-22 lead and then finished off the final period with a 16-12 run.<\/p>\n

Thoele hit seven field goals and was one of one at the line for 15 points while Buening scored 11 points. Eight other players added points.<\/p>\n

The Shoes claimed the junior varsity win, 63-50. Jake Probst scored 16 and Teagan Pals 14.<\/p>\n

Altamont trailed after the opening quarter in a game against Moweaqua Central A&M Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

But the Indians came back strong over the next three quarters to take a 57-46 non-conference win.<\/p>\n

Altamont led 24-21 at halftime when went on a 24-9 third quarter rampage. Zaine Miller, who hadn’t scored in the opening half, hit a two-pointer, a three and was three of four at the line for eight points while Cooper McManaway scored seven and Cooper Pals added five.<\/p>\n

The Indians had three players in double digits. Kade Milleville led the way with five field goals, one a three-pointer and four of five at the line for 15. McManaway chipped in with 14 and Bell added 10.<\/p>\n

Altamont won the junior varsity contest, 48-32. Blake Berg led the way with 21 points while Kaiden Wolff added 12.<\/p>\n

Three players hit double digits for the winners. Kaleb Bierman led the way with seven field goals and five of seven at the line for 22 points. He hit three from beyond the arc. Reed Miller chipped in with 13 and Isaac Venatta added 11.<\/p>\n

North Clay traveled to Lawrenceville and fell to the homestanding team by a 64-53 count Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 Cardinals held a 14-12 opening quarter lead as Cody Zimdars scored seven points while Carder Walden added five.<\/p>\n

The lead stood at 39-27 at halftime as Walden added on eight more points and Zimdars put in nine.<\/p>\n

But that’s where the scoring runs would end. Lawrenceville came back with a 15-8 third quarter and went on a 21-6 final period surge for the victory.<\/p>\n

Wilson scored 21,\u00a0 Cessna 20, Mickiewcz 11 and Goff 10\u00a0 for the winners.<\/p>\n

North Clay was led by Zimdars with 25 points on 11 field goals, two of those three-pointers and one of two at the line. Walden added 16.<\/p>\n

Lawrenceville was a 45-36 winner in junior varsity action while North Clay won a freshman\/sophomore contest 46-31.<\/p>\n
