CASEY — Effingham fell to Casey-Westfield in eighth-grade boys basketball action Tuesday, 39-35.<\/p>\n

Effingham held a 15-7 opening quarter lead and led 19-14 at halftime and 30-25 going into the final quarter. Casey-Westfield came back with a 14-5 run for the victory.<\/p>\n

Effingham was led by Bridges with 17 points.<\/p>\n

Altamont was a 57-38 winner over Ramsey in seventh-grade action Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Altamont sped out to a 20-2 opening quarter lead and that was the game.<\/p>\n

Four players hit double figures for the winners. Noah Pierce led with 16 points while Weston Nelson added 12 and Haydon Arnold and Caleb Bauer 10 each.<\/p>\n

Dieterich jumped out to a 16-3 opening quarter lead and went on for a 46-30 win. Koester led the way with 18 points while Bohnhoff added nine.<\/p>\n

Stew-Stras was led by Ashmore with eight.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade game, Stew-Stras was a 48-22 winner. Stew-Stras held a 28-8 halftime lead.<\/p>\n

Worman tallied 14 and Pruemer 10 for the winners.<\/p>\n

Dieterich was led by Niemerg with 13.<\/p>\n
