As of Dec. 22, these temporary guidelines include: <\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">Only two people should visit a patient at any one time.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">People should not visit patients if they:<\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">Have a cold or any flu-like symptoms including, fever or chills, sore throat, body or muscle aches, headache,\u00a0cough\u00a0or runny nose<\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">Are under 18 years of age\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">Adjustments\u00a0for\u00a0specific\u00a0<wbr \/>situations such as end-of-life or other circumstances\u00a0will be taken\u00a0in\u00a0consideration.<\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">This decision is in alignment with recommendations\u00a0put forth by the Illinois Department of Public Health<i>\u00a0<\/i>due to an increase in respiratory illnesses like influenza, RSV and COVID-19.<\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_7593137845027654014paragraph\"><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014normaltextrun\">HSHS encourages people\u00a0practice\u00a0good hand hygiene by washing hands\u00a0frequently, covering their mouth when coughing or sneezing and getting all recommended\u00a0vaccinations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"m_7593137845027654014eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During\u00a0the respiratory illness season,\u00a0Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) has\u00a0historically\u00a0implemented\u00a0visitor guidelines across their Illinois and Wisconsin hospitals as a precautionary measure for the safety of colleagues, patients and visitors.
