DIETERICH —\u00a0 Dieterich High School won its own boys holiday basketball tournament with a 49-44 win over Sullivan Monday.<\/p>\n

The Maroons edged out to a 13-9 opening quarter lead and led 19-16 at halftime. Dieterich then had a 13-8 third quarter for the win.<\/p>\n

Three players hit double figures for the winners. Ezra Cook connected on six field goals, one a three-pointer, for 13 points while Jackson Icenogle hit five field goals, three from beyond the arc, also for 13 points. Bryce Bohnhoff chipped in with 10.<\/p>\n

In the third place contest, Robinson edged Red Hill, 53-50.<\/p>\n

The fifth place game went to Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City over South Central, 56-45.<\/p>\n

CHBC moved into a 12-7 opening quarter lead and led 25-19 at halftime. The Bobcats had a 31-26 second half run.<\/p>\n

Three players hit double figures for the Bobcats. Griffin Vaughn scored 17 points on seven field goals, two from beyond the arc, and one of one at the line. Remington Howell added 14 and Clive Schlanser 10.<\/p>\n

South Central had two players in double figures. Westin Neilson scored 10 field goals, three from beyond the arc, and two of two at the line for 25 while Hudson Moore added 11.<\/p>\n

In the seventh place game, Grayville was a 79-59 winner over Ramsey.<\/p>\n

Named to the All-Tournament Team were Ian Kleinschmidt (Grayville), Griffin Vaughn (CHBC), Andrew Sparks (Robinson), Jackson Icenogle (Dieterich), Drayden Watkins (Sullivan), Westin Neilson (South Central), Brock Niemerg (Dieterich), Cruz Dunlap (Robinson), Ozzy Ash (Red Hill), Bryce Bohnhoff (Dieterich) and Teagan McRill (Sullivan).<\/p>\n

The Cheerleading Award went to Dieterich.<\/p>\n
