Boys high school basketball teams will be competing in tournament play around the area.<\/p>\n

Effingham and Teutopolis host a Christmas Classic with Effingham St. Anthony and Newton taking part along with many other teams. The tourney will open Monday, run Tuesday and will finish out Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Dieterich Tournament will play host to area teams Cowden-Herrick\/Beecher City and South Central along with six other teams. The tourney will open Friday and run Saturday and end Monday with the finals.<\/p>\n

Neoga takes part in the Monticello Holiday Hoopla. The Indians will meet Monticello at 11:30 a.m. Friday and then face Ridgeview at 6 p.m. that day. In the other first round contest, Neoga will face Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 2 p.m. Saturday. Finals are scheduled Monday.<\/p>\n

Cumberland will be competing in the Vandalia Tournament beginning Friday. The Pirates play the first game against Macon Meridian at 10 a.m. and will finish the day with a 6 p.m. contest against Shelbyville. Saturday’s game will be at 1 p.m. against Pana. The tourney continues Monday and will finish out Tuesday with the finals.<\/p>\n

Altamont heads to the Sesser-Valier Tournament. The Indians will open the tourney as the first game of the day Friday at 3 p.m. against New Athens. The tourney continues Saturday and will finish play Monday with the finals.<\/p>\n

Windsor\/Stewardson-Strasburg will be at the Kansas Tri-County Tournament beginning Saturday. Windsor\/Stew-Stras faces Paris at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Hatchets will meet Martinsville at 2:30 p.m. Monday. The team will play two games Tuesday in the final day. The Hatchets face Chrisman at 1 p.m. and then take on host Tri-County at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
