TEUTOPOLIS — Teutopolis High School played host to Salem Tuesday evening and sent the Wildcats home with a 51-36 loss in girls basketball competition.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Shoes took a 17-12 opening quarter lead but Salem came back with a 13-7 run to lead 25-24 at halftime.<\/p>\n

T-town rallied with a 9-8 third quarter to tie the score at 33-33.<\/p>\n

The Shoes then finished out strong wearing down Salem with an 18-3 run for the victory. In that run, Anna Probst tallied five points while Eva Mette and Jersey Gaddis added four points each. Mallory Bloemer knocked in a three-pointer.<\/p>\n

T-town had only one player in double figures. Anna Probst finished with 12 point on five field goals, one a three-pointer, and was one of one at the line. Ten players scored in the contest for the Shoes.<\/p>\n

Gaddis and Kelsey Niemerg finished with five steals each. Malea Helmink had two assists.<\/p>\n

Brownstown\/St. Elmo had a huge scoring second quarter in taking a 54-26 victory over Greenville in regular season play Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

BSE held a 9-3 opening quarter lead then went on a tear, outscoring Greenville 27-5 to lead 36-8 at halftime.<\/p>\n

In that run, Dayana Haslett and Madi Miller scored eight points each while Addie Sasse added six and Danika Ramsey hit a three-pointer.<\/p>\n

Haslett finished with 16 points to lead the winners with six field goals, one a three-pointer, and three of four at the line. Miller added 14 and Sasse 11.<\/p>\n

In junior varsity action, Greenville captured a 23-19 win.<\/p>\n
