Effingham and Teutopolis competed in the boys junior high Triad Basketball Shootout Saturday.<\/p>\n

Effingham split victories while Teutopolis was a winner in both games.<\/p>\n

Effingham won over Highland 42-38. Highland held a 20-19 halftime lead and led 30-27 going into the final quarter.<\/p>\n

Effingham mounted a comeback with a 15-8 final period to pull out the victory.<\/p>\n

Deek Thompson scored 21, hitting seven field goals that included three trifectas and was four of four at the line.<\/p>\n

In the second game, Carriel was a 49-44 winner over Effingham.<\/p>\n

Carriel jumped out to a 27-22 halftime lead then had a 10-4 third quarter run.<\/p>\n

Effingham was led by Thompson with 18 points and O’Dell with 10.<\/p>\n

Teutopolis won over Mascoutah in both seventh- and eighth-grade play at the Shootout.<\/p>\n

T-town won the seventh-grade game 36-27, taking a 26-23 lead going into the final quarter then outscoring Mascoutah 10-4.<\/p>\n

B. Meyer scored 15 to lead the Shoes.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town ran out to a 19-3 opening quarter lead and never looked back in a 52-23 win.<\/p>\n

O. Wermert scored 12 and M. Giles 11 for the winners.<\/p>\n

T-town edged O’Fallon Fulton 25-23 in the seventh-grade contest. T-town trailed O’Fallon Fulton 7-4 after the opening quarter but came back to lead 12-11 at halftime.<\/p>\n

B. Meyer scored seven to lead the winners.<\/p>\n

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town easily won 49-19, zipping out to a 19-4 opening quarter lead.<\/p>\n

K. Meyer scored 10 for the winners.<\/p>\n

Teutopolis competed in B games Saturday with Neoga. The Shoes won the opening game 70-8, taking a 36-6 halftime lead.<\/p>\n

Thirteen players scored for the Shoes led by Cam Kremer and Caden Flora with nine each.<\/p>\n

Neoga was led by Bright with six.<\/p>\n

In the second contest, T-town won 42-22. The Shoes held a 19-16 halftime lead.<\/p>\n

Finley Witges led the winners with nine points while Brock Witges added eight.<\/p>\n

Neoga was led by McNeal with four.<\/p>\n

Duncan Miller led Jasper County with four points. Kamden Klier was the top rebounder and top passer while Tristian Lingafelter was the top defender.<\/p>\n
